Date ranges and comparisons

Choose the period a dashboard reports on, then add a comparison when you need context. By the end, you will know what each date option includes and how to read the second period.

Choose a date range

Open the date control at the top of Overview, Google Analytics, or Search Console. Under Date range, choose:

• This Month — the first day of this month through today
• Last Month — the whole previous calendar month
• Year to Date — January 1 through today
• Last Year — today's date one year ago through today
• Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, or Last 90 Days — a complete span ending yesterday
• Custom — the start and end dates you pick

For Custom, select both dates, then choose Apply. Choose Cancel to close the calendar without applying the new range.

Compare it with an earlier period

In the same control, open Compare and choose one of two options:

• Previous Period compares the active range with the earlier period Feta calculates for it.
• Previous Year (YoY) uses the same start and end dates one year earlier.

Choose Off to remove the comparison. When comparison is on, the earlier dates appear beneath the active dates, and dashboard cards show the change between the two periods.

Comparison changes apply when one company is selected. If you switch to a company group, the dashboards do not apply the comparison to the group totals.

For day-based and custom ranges, Previous Period is the immediately preceding span of the same length. For This Month and Last Month, Feta shifts the displayed dates back one month. The dates printed beside the control are the final word on which periods are being compared.

The choice follows you

Feta remembers the date range and comparison setting in this browser. Move between the three dashboards and the same reporting window stays selected until you change it.
